London Relocation Ltd - An American Owned UK Specialist Relocation Service
How we work
As a specialist in the Process of relocation to London, England, I have extensive experience in the field of placing people with the perfect apartment. My own process is simple and Effective:
- I place 99% of my clients in the first Day of looking.
- The Day of the Search is long and it is important to get a good night sleep beforehand.
- I work with a majority of real-estate companies and estate agencies around London in order to show you all properties that are available within your search criteria.
- We view between 15-30 properties subject to market availability.
- I help you open a bank account as well as transfer all utility bills to your name.
UK Specialist Relocation Step 1: Budget
The recommended average budget for my clients will start from around £270/week for a one bedroom or studio flat in Central London. In the UK rent is stipulated on a weekly rate (I know this is strange and different from the way we do things at home!). To simplify this, just multiply the weekly rate by 52 (weeks in a year) and divide by 12 (months) and you will get the monthly total cost.
UK Specialist Relocation Step 2: Areas
If your knowledge of London is limited then we will talk to ensure that you make an informed decision and gain an in-depth knowledge of what each area has to offer. Certainly your needs will be different if you are looking for a London student apartment as opposed to a corporate relocation - one needs to be close to their school, the other to their office or transportation.
UK Specialist Relocation Step 3: Commute
The commute to and from either work or school is also important, so the time spent traveling is minimized. This is done prior to any search and means that all the properties shown are within your required/preferred time frame.
Various bills you will need to keep in mind:
- Council tax: £60-120/month (depending on borough and number of people occupying the premises)
- If you are a full time student you will be exempt from paying council tax provided you have a letter from your school stating that you are enrolled in full time studies
- Gas & Electricity: £20-50/month (billed quarterly)
- Phone: £12/month for line rental (excludes all phone calls)
- Broadband: £10/month for unlimited use
- Water: £120/year (billed quarterly)
- TV license: £12.50/month
- Sky, Ntl etc: £20/month (basic package) should you wish to subscribe.
- Travel card: £ 28/week covering zone 1-2 on tubes, buses and trains (slightly cheaper if you pay monthly)
If you are already preparing to relocate to London, contact us today. With our help, you will be able to inspect several london student apartments until you find the right one for you.
