If you are living in London during April of this year, you will be at the very centre of the world stage on the 29^th of April when His Royal Highness Prince William marries Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey in the centre of London. It will be an event that is watched by millions of people around the world and if you are lucky enough to be in London on the day, it will long live on in your memory. Although many Londoners are threatening to flee to the country to avoid the massive crowds; this will be a once in a lifetime experience and will make moving to London one of the best decisions that you ever made.

There is something uniquely British about a Royal Wedding and not since the marriage of Princess Diana to Prince Charles has there been such a media hype and frenzy. If you are looking for an opportunity to see the Royal couple in the flesh then you will have to book your place early along the processional route, which the newly married couple will take on their way back to Buckingham Palace. Some of the best viewpoints along the way will be Parliament Square, Whitehall, Horse Guards Parade and of course, The Mall. There will be thousands of people surrounding the Palace just to catch a glimpse of the newlyweds on the balcony on the palace as they have their first kiss for the crowds.

After the ceremony and the chance to see the couple; the Queen will host a Reception for the couple and a selection of guests, and the Prince of Wales will host a gala dinner with dancing for the couple in the evening, which will be for close family and friends. The BBC will televise the entire event and April 29 has been declared a public holiday in England.

The week preceding the Royal Wedding will be a busy ne in London and while you might not be interested in the lives of the Royals, you will not be able to help yourself being swept up in the tradition and pomp and ceremony of the whole event. Get yourself a piece of commemorative crockery (even a mug will do) and know that you were there, in London, on one of the most important days in the lives of the British people and the Royal Family.
